Fife Costal Path

This beautiful walk takes in 82.5 miles/132kms of the Fife coastline. Inverkeithing is on that coast. We often get walkers who leave their cars with us and return a few days later by rail.


Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Set against the stunning background of Edinburgh Castle, this is a spectacular event not to be missed. The sight and sound of the Massed Pipe Bands is awesome. Only 20 minutes by train from The Roods.


Scottish Rugby Union

The home of Scottish Rugby at Murrayfield, Edinburgh is easily reached by rail then a 10 minute walk to the stadium.


Edinburgh Fringe

The largest arts festival in the world. Last year it held 28,000 performances at 261 venues with 177 free shows. Be in Edinburgh city centre in 20 minutes from The Roods.


Roslyn Chapel

Now world famous since The Da Vinci Code, it is a Mecca for enthusiasts and has a long association with Freemasonry. This mysterious and amazing chapel is only a 30 minute drive from The Roods.
